( September 23, 2026, 04:18 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Trade Competition Commission of Thailand on Tuesday announced a public consultation on draft guidelines for settling competition offenses and calculating fines, replacing its 2019 notification. The draft would allow the TCCT to offer settlements where imprisonment is deemed unnecessary, with alleged offenders given 15 days to accept and pay. For abuse of dominance and anti-competitive agreement violations, fines would be calculated using a formula based on enforcement costs, economic losses and a 3x-to-5x deterrence multiplier, capped at 10 percent of revenue generated during the offense period. Failure to settle or pay, or more than three repeat offenses, could result in referral to public prosecutors for court action. The consultation runs through Oct. 22. Statement follows.
