( September 15, 2026, 15:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Wesleyan University has filed a motion to dismiss US price-fixing claims over tuition, and more specifically an alleged conspiracy alongside Common Application and Scoir Inc. designed to reduce or eliminate competition through the "early decision" admissions process. Wesleyan did not previously join with other defendants' motion to dismiss given that named plaintiff Alayna D'Amico, a Wesleyan graduate, alleged claims arising from her early decision application to Wesleyan, providing a basis for plaintiffs to assert personal jurisdiction over Wesleyan in Massachusetts federal court, the motion said. Circumstances have changed, however, as D'Amico voluntarily dismissed her claims, and now none of the remaining named plaintiffs applied to and enrolled at Wesleyan while residing in the District of Massachusetts, so the court should dismiss the claims as a "jurisdictional nexus between Wesleyan and Massachusetts no longer exists," the filing said.See attached file....
