Japan's Aderans discloses subsidiary's past undisclosed online marketing
( September 9, 2026, 02:26 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Major Japanese wigmaker Aderans said Tuesday that its Tokyo-based subsidiary Reizvoll, which sells medical and women’s wigs, used an outside contractor in 2019 to post comments about Reizvoll or its products on a third-party Q&A site without identifying the posts as advertising. Reizvoll said 70 such posts were made in 2019 and that the conduct predated Japan’s Consumer Affairs Agency rules against stealth marketing that took effect in 2023 under the Act against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Representations, but acknowledged that the advertising method was inappropriate.
