Google settles Play Store charges UK collective damages claim

( August 27, 2026, 15:54 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google has reached a £260 million ($353 million) settlement over a UK collective damages claim brought by an academic over the company's Play Store charges, according to lawyers for the class representative. Professor Barry Rodger, who had sought damages of up to £1 billion, brought the suit on behalf of app developers over an alleged abuse of dominance.
