Economists, scholars propose 'pay for half' remedy in US Google Search antitrust case

The experts recommend a “pay for half” remedy under which Google would not be permitted to pay for default status on all consumer devices, but only on a fraction of them, thereby leaving space in the market for entrants to compete on remaining non-Google devices. “The scheme that Google developed to create and exploit its monopoly power was left largely unchanged by the District Court and, today, it keeps Google safe from competitive challenge,” they said.See attached file. ...
