US FTC, Southern Glazer's seek longer stay to finalize Robinson-Patman settlement

( July 30, 2026, 23:02 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Federal Trade Commission and Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits asked a California federal judge to extend the stay in their Robinson-Patman Act dispute as they work to finalize their settlement agreement. US District Judge Fred Slaughter previously stayed the case until Aug. 6. In a court filing, the FTC and Southern Glazer's said they have worked diligently and continue to negotiate to convert a memorandum of understanding "into a stipulated proposed final order." They asked Slaughter to extend the stay of the case "for an additional twenty-nine (29) days, through September 4, 2026, to allow time to complete this process, secure the necessary Commission vote, and finalize the resolution of the action."See court filing. ...
