Caremark settles with US FTC to resolve claims over rebating practices

( July 14, 2026, 19:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Caremark reached a settlement with the US Federal Trade Commission to resolve claims that the company artificially inflated the list price of insulin drugs by using anticompetitive and unfair rebating practices, the FTC announced. According to the statement, Caremark locks in place up to $8.5 billion in consumer savings over the next 10 years and unlocks up to $4.5 billion in additional savings for patients over the same 10-year period from point-of-sale rebates. “The settlement with Caremark brings billions in real savings to consumers feeling the pinch from excessive prescription drug prices. And the settlement bars Caremark from interfering with hub pharmacies, which can help identify the lowest out-of-pocket option for patients and improve patient access to prescriptions,” Chairman Andrew N. Ferguson said.Statement follows in full. Also see attached file. ...
