( June 23, 2026, 08:27 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: YKK, a major global fastening-products manufacturer, received a corrective recommendation from the Japan Fair Trade Commission on Tuesday after the regulator found that the Japan-based company set payments to 21 subcontractors at levels about 9 percent to 72.5 percent below amounts calculated using actual working conditions between July 2023 and November 2025. The JFTC said the conduct violated the Subcontract Act’s prohibition on imposing unjustly low prices. YKK subsequently raised order prices retroactively and paid 26.5 million yen ($165,000) in additional compensation to the suppliers.Statement is attached (in Japanese). ...
