Irico opposes US plaintiffs' proposed judgments in CRT price-fixing case
( May 16, 2026, 00:41 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Irico Group opposes proposed judgments filed by direct purchaser and indirect purchaser plaintiffs in US price-fixing litigation. In separate court filings, Irico said the direct purchaser plaintiffs (DPPs) have asked the court to enter a default judgment against the company for over $3 billion, while the the indirect purchaser plaintiffs asked for a default judgment worth over $4 billion. Irico said both proposals suffer from a variety of flaws, including the fact that the US court overseeing the case lacks jurisdiction to grant a default judgment awarding class-wide damages because both the DPPs and IPPs didn't prove that each member of their respective classes was overcharged for cathode ray tubes at this stage in the case.
