( May 12, 2026, 08:10 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Ryukyu Logistics, a mid-sized logistics company based in Okinawa, received a corrective recommendation Tuesday for violating Japan’s Subcontract Act. According to the Japan Fair Trade Commission and the Okinawa General Bureau, the company improperly reduced payments to 16 subcontractors that transported cargo for Ryukyu. Rather than paying the amounts agreed with the subcontractors, Ryukyu paid portions of the fees it received from cargo owners, resulting in reductions totaling 37.8 million yen ($240,000). Ryukyu repaid the deducted amounts in March, but the JFTC instructed the company to ensure it would refrain from reducing subcontract payments in the future.Statement is attached (in Japanese). ...
