Organic distributors trade association and members get French antitrust fine

By Jean Comte ( April 16, 2026, 10:21 GMT | Insight) -- The French competition authority has imposed a €12.7 million fine on Synadis, a trade union for organic products distributors, and on its members Greenweez, Comptoirs de la Bio and ITM Entreprises, the authority said Thursday. They had all colluded to allocate organic suppliers’ brands between specialized stores and general supermarkets, preventing comparability and reducing possible downward pressure on prices. Synadis Bio, Greenweez, Comptoirs de la Bio and ITM Entreprises received a fine of nearly €12.7 million from the French competition authority for having allocated organic suppliers’ brands between specialist retailers and supermarkets (see here)....
