Applied Medical says jury did its job in US antitrust case against Medtronic

( April 9, 2026, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Medtronic is asking a US court to rewrite the law, ignore evidence, and reweigh a voluminous record in its favor by overruling a jury verdict in Applied Medical Resources’ favor, according to an opposition brief. Applied brought an antitrust case against Medtronic over advanced bipolar devices. “Trial established that Medtronic leveraged its unmatched portfolio to block competition. Medtronic’s documents described its strategy: leverage the portfolio, mitigate competitive threats, and make it ‘impossible’ for rivals to compete. The result was higher prices, less competition, and less customer choice. Rather than grapple with this record, Medtronic advances erroneous legal arguments this court already rejected,” Applied said in its brief.See attached file. ...
