China's Jiangxi provincial explosives association, companies fined for monopoly agreements

( April 10, 2026, 08:46 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China’s Jiangxi Provincial Society of Explosives and Blasting was fined by the local market regulator for organizing companies to reach monopoly agreements, according to the penalty decisions issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation on Thursday. The regulator found that in 2020 the association organized companies to sign a provincial market order convention and implement rules, and later signed a “no increase” arrangement on sales outlets and volumes, restricting output and fixing prices of civil explosives. The conduct deprived operators of independent pricing and production decisions and excluded competition, supported by mechanisms such as contract filing, blacklists and deposits. The authority, which opened an investigation in June 2022, imposed a fine of 300,000 yuan ($44,000) on the association, and separately fined Jiangxi Guotai Group and Jiangxi Ganxiang Explosives Sales Company 200,000 yuan each for their participation in the monopoly agreements.Statement follows and the penalty decision is attached (in Chinese)....
