South Korea warns of crackdown on unfair practices in medical supplies

( April 7, 2026, 06:07 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The South Korean government pledged to crack down unfair trade practices, including hoarding, collusion or any market manipulation that could disrupt the supply of medical products such as syringes, needles, IV fluids and medicine bottles amid supply constraints amid the war in Iran. In a joint briefing on Tuesday, the health, trade and drug ministries, along with the country’s competition regulator, said authorities are closely monitoring the market and will take strict enforcement action if violations are identified.
