Plaintiffs win class certification in US antitrust case over card shufflers

( March 31, 2026, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Plaintiffs bringing US monopolization claims against Light & Wonder over card shufflers were granted class certification but were denied summary judgment by a federal judge. District Judge John F. Kness said that plaintiffs cannot rely on a previous decision in Nevada because the companies’ antitrust impact/causation argument was not relied upon by that court and the market definition was neither litigated nor relied upon. However, Kness did say that the class device is not only superior but perhaps the only practical method to resolve the claims fairly and efficiently.See attached file. ...
