Indonesia's Supreme Court rejects Google's appeal over Play Store billing

( March 13, 2026, 05:25 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Indonesia's Supreme Court has rejected Google LLC’s appeal over alleged monopolistic practices and abuse of dominant position related to the implementation of the Google Play Billing system, the Indonesian Competition Commission announced Friday, citing an announcement by the Supreme Court on its website. The antitrust regulator said with this decision, the antitrust regulator’s decision on Jan. 7, 2025 to fine Google 202.5 billion rupiah (about $12 million) is “now legally binding.” Google in February last year filed an appeal at the Central Jakarta Court to overturn the antitrust regulator’s decision. However, in mid-June, the Central Jakarta Commercial Court rejected Google’s appeal, prompting the US tech giant to file an appeal at the Supreme Court.Full statement follows (in Indonesian)....
