Redfin files reply supporting dismissal of US FTC, states' antitrust case

( February 12, 2026, 23:30 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Redfin filed a reply supporting a motion to dismiss the US Federal Trade Commission and several states' antitrust claims against it and Zillow, which allege the companies harmed competition for rental advertising offerings through a $100 million partnership. Strong indirect network effects between renters and advertisers mean that plaintiffs must plead a relevant antitrust market for renters and advertisers, and plead harm to the market "as a whole," Redfin said in its filing in the Eastern District of Virginia. Plaintiffs also try to avoid rule of reason analysis through invoking the quick look standard, which has "no place" where a partnership has plausible net procompetitive effects, the filing said.See attached file....
