China prosecutors file more than 240 competition public-interest cases in 2025

( February 3, 2026, 03:19 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China’s prosecutors filed more than 240 cases nationwide involving antitrust, unfair competition and related areas in 2025, with 79 million yuan ($11.4 million) in disputed amounts. The Supreme People’s Procuratorate said at a press conference on Monday that prosecutors ramped up public-interest litigation to protect fair competition and issued more than 80 prosecutorial recommendations in these cases. In 2025, prosecutors also focused on irregular cross-regional enforcement and profit-driven law enforcement, correcting practices that seriously harmed companies’ legitimate rights and the fair competition market environment. In total, prosecutorial authorities handled more than 9,700 criminal litigation supervision cases linked to such enforcement and judicial problems.Excerpt of the pressing transcript follows (in Chinese)....
