NHK asks US appeals court to rehear Seagate's antitrust case

( January 22, 2026, 23:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: NHK Springs asked a US appeals court to rehear price-fixing claims brought by Seagate Technology over suspension assemblies, saying that panel’s decision to revive the case is the first in history to authorize recovery under US antitrust law for foreign transactions between foreign parties as long as certain terms of those transactions are set in the US. The company argued that that decision conflicts with the Seventh Circuit, and every other court to date in its internally inconsistent textual analysis under the Foreign Trade Antitrust Improvements Act.
