Australian antitrust watchdog should investigate e-conveyancing market, report says

( November 25, 2025, 01:41 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The e-conveyancing market in Australia should be investigated by the country’s antitrust regulator to assess whether further action is needed to boost competition, a parliamentary report has found. In the report published this week on “Micro-competition opportunities in e-conveyancing,” a parliamentary committee also noted that the e-conveyancing market is currently dominated by Property Exchange Australia. The report said that the stakeholders believed the main barrier to increased competition in the e-conveyancing market was a lack of interoperability between Electronic Lodgment Network Operators. The committee also recommended that the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission be given a permanent role on the Australian Registrars’ National Electronic Conveyancing Council.The report is attached....
