Visa, Mastercard reach new settlement with US merchants over interchange fees

( November 10, 2025, 21:23 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Visa and Mastercard reached a revised agreement to resolve merchants’ US antitrust claims over interchange fees. If approved, the new deal would allow merchants to choose whether to accept cards in specific categories such as commercial cards, premium consumer cards including many rewards cards, and standard consumer cards. It would also allow merchants to surcharge credit transactions up to 3 percent and impose a cap for standard consumer interchange rates, creating a significant disparity in the interchange rates associated with standard versus premium consumer credit cards.See attached file....
