Mitsubishi Mahindra unit sanctioned in Japan for subcontract law breach

By Jeyup S Kwaak ( October 9, 2025, 09:56 GMT | Insight) -- A subsidiary of Mitsubishi Mahindra Agricultural Machinery, a Japan-India joint venture, has received a corrective recommendation from the Japan Fair Trade Commission for violating the Subcontract Act — a rare case in which a parent company was held partly responsible for a subsidiary’s misconduct. The commission said the subsidiary, Ryono Factory, violated the law by leaving nearly 9,000 metal molds in storage at 57 subcontractors without payment since October 2023. A subsidiary of Mitsubishi Mahindra Agricultural Machinery, or MAM, has received a corrective recommendation from Japan's antitrust regulator for violating the Subcontract Act — a rare case in which a parent company was found at least partly responsible for a subsidiary’s misconduct....
