Five UK water companies can increase customer bills in appeal, CMA says

( October 9, 2025, 07:02 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Five water companies will be allowed to gain an additional £556 million in revenue from higher bills for customers in the UK, the antitrust regulator provisionally decided. The Competition and Markets Authority had been called in to review regulator Ofwat’s determinations on what Anglian Water, Northumbrian Water, South East Water, Southern Water and Wessex Water could charge customers. In a statement Thursday, the CMA said the increase marks 21 percent of the £2.7 billion the companies had requested. Statement follows....
