Judgment released in Epic Games' Australian antitrust case against Apple

( September 11, 2025, 03:37 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The significant components of Apple operating system iOS’s security architecture can apply in a manner that is “agnostic to app distribution channel,” an Australian judge said. In a judgment document published on Thursday, Federal Court of Australia Judge Jonathan Beach said that the instances in which “Apple has enforced its restrictive terms to foreclose competition are too numerous to set out in full.” He added that Apple failed to persuade him that decentralized app distribution would have the “substantially deleterious and harmful consequences as to security, privacy and user experience for which it contends.” In a separate statement to MLex, Apple said it strongly disagrees with many decisions in this case, “including an improper market definition.”The full judgment in the Epic Games v.
