AliExpress sanctioned in South Korea for disclosure failures, misleading advertising

The Korea Fair Trade Commission found that Alibaba.com Singapore E-Commerce failed to register as a distance seller despite operating as one, while both the Singapore unit and AliExpress Korea neglected to display required business information, disclose their intermediary role and provide seller details before purchase, resulting in corrective orders and administrative fines totaling 2 million won. Two affiliates, Oceansky Internet Information Technology and MICTW Supply Chain Service Singapore, were separately penalized for inflating discounts by citing list prices never actually used in past transactions, triggering corrective and publication orders alongside the heavy fines. The statement, in Korean, is attached....
