Industry groups support rehearing US appeal over Google Play Store injunction

( August 25, 2025, 23:30 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Chamber of Progress, NetChoice, the Chamber of Commerce and others supported rehearing a US appeals court's blessing of a lower federal court injunction against the Google Play Store, which required that Google make its catalogue of Google Play apps available to other app stores, and carry those app stores on Google Play at reasonable fees. A three-judge panel on the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit affirmed an injunction that would warp the mobile-app economy, flouting precedent that requires narrow tailoring to such a remedy and a causal connection between the remedy ordered and the violation found, the industry groups said.See attached files....
