NASCAR says 23XI, Front Row shouldn't be rewarded for 'self-inflicted injuries' in US case

( August 18, 2025, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing opposed 23XI and Front Row Motorsports’ motion for an injunction, saying that it goes the bedrock principles of antitrust law. The injunction would require NASCAR to allow the race teams to enter three cars each in all NASCAR Cup Series races under a 2025 charter agreement. NASCAR said that the teams are assured entry for six “open” cars in all remaining 2025 Cup Series races, and running those races open causes them no irreparable harm, and there is no irreparable harm from NASCAR choosing who it wants to do business with. “Plaintiffs knowingly accepted the risk and made the informed choice of rejecting NASCAR’s offer. NASCAR now wishes to partner with others. Equity does not reward self-inflicted injuries,” it argued. See attached file....
