Media Matters gets injunction against US FTC investigation

( August 15, 2025, 21:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A federal judge granted Media Matters for America's request for an injunction against an investigation launched by the US Federal Trade Commission, finding that the agency’s investigation is retaliatory. District Judge Sparkle L. Sooknanan said that the FTC chairman and his colleagues have made comments characterizing Media Matters and the investigative push “in ideological terms,” the timing of the investigation suggests retaliation, and the “sweeping scope” of the investigative demands doesn’t square with its proffered reason.
