Planning laws, not land banking, block grocery-sector entrants in New Zealand, report finds

In its latest Annual Grocery Report published by the New Zealand Commerce Commission this week, the country’s grocery commissioner found that the large retailers continued to hold 82 percent of the market, which remains unchanged since 2023.
