St. Joseph's Hospital denied dismissal of counterclaims in US noncompete case

( July 29, 2025, 21:57 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: St. Joseph Hospital Health Center's motion to dismiss counterclaims by American Anesthesiology, NMSC II, and North American Partners in Anesthesiology over alleged tortious interference in a US antitrust case brought by St. Joseph has been denied by a New York federal judge. NAPA has adequately pled the existence of valid contracts between itself and clinicians, which St. Joseph allegedly interfered with by inducing clinicians to cease their employment with NAPA in violation of noncompete provisions, US District Judge Brenda Sannes ruled. Whereas the court previously granted St. Joseph's motion to dismiss because NAPA's allegations "were so bare," the second amended counterclaims contain "many more details about the agreements," the order said.See attached file....
