Booking.com targeted by planned UK mass claim over pricing clauses

( July 22, 2025, 12:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Booking.com is targeted by a UK class action over the platform's use of pricing clauses, lawyers for the claimant have said. The UK’s Bed and Breakfast Association is bringing the claim on behalf of thousands of UK accommodation providers and will file a claim at the UK’s Competition Appeal Tribunal.  According to the claim, Booking.com's "price parity" policies "prevent or strongly discourage UK accommodation providers, including hotels and B&Bs, from offering lower room prices through all other sales channels." It argues the policies are anticompetitive and allow the platform to charge UK accommodation providers "unlawfully high commissions."Statement attached....
