Former US FTC commissioner Bedoya says court order over illegal firings a 'massive victory'

( July 17, 2025, 22:54 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Former US Federal Trade Commissioner Alvaro Bedoya said an order by a District of Columbia judge finding that fellow FTC commissioner Rebecca Kelly Slaughter's removal from the agency was unlawful is a victory. “We live in a time when billionaires wield immense influence over our government. This decision shows a limit to that. Today’s ruling is a massive victory for American families and the rule of law,” Bedoya, who resigned from the FTC in June, said in a statement.
