Racing teams seek temporary restraining order against NASCAR in US antitrust case

( July 14, 2025, 14:39 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Racing teams 23XI and Front Row Motorsports have asked a North Carolina federal judge to issue a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction against NASCAR that would reinstate terms of the court's previous injunction, which was struck down by US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. The plaintiffs seek a temporary restraining order by July 15 before a mandate takes effect the following day, which would bar the teams from pursuing their US monopolization claims if they also participate in the NASCAR Cup Series races, the motion filed to the Western District of North Carolina said. "In the absence of a temporary restraining order entered by July 15, 2025 and thereafter a preliminary injunction, Plaintiffs will face several irreparable harms, including the loss of their sponsors, drivers, industry goodwill, irreplaceable competitive opportunities, and revenue, which threatens the very existence of their businesses," the racing teams said.See attached document....
