US FTC asks Fifth Circuit to extend stay on noncompete suit by 60 days

( July 10, 2025, 23:38 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Federal Trade Commission filed a motion to extend a stay in a lawsuit in a case involving a challenge to its noncompete rulemaking. In a filing to the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the FTC asked for the case to be held in abeyance for 60 additional days. The agency proposes to file a status report in 60 days, on Sept. 8, regarding appropriate next steps in the appeal. The FTC said plaintiff-appellee Ryan LLC doesn't oppose the motion.See attached document....
