Google asks US judge to delay trial in Texas adtech case
( June 30, 2025, 22:56 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google asked a Texas federal judge to reset the liability trial date for states' challenge to its adtech business, from Aug. 11 to a date 60 days after final judgment is entered in the US Department of Justice's similar case against Google. The DOJ and Google are set to face off at a remedies proceeding on Sept. 22 in a Virginia federal court. "Many of the trial witnesses Google intends to offer at the current August trial setting are urgently needed to prepare for and provide expected trial testimony at the Virginia remedies proceeding," Google argued to the Texas federal judge in a court filing. The company also argued that its antitrust liability for claims related to its adtech stack is being adjudicated in no fewer than three federal courts. "Each case is at an inflection point that creates a concrete risk of inconsistent adjudication, especially if Google prevails at trial here," Google said. "It does not serve judicial economy, and it risks inconsistent adjudication, for this court to undertake a trial of liability in these circumstances." See Google's motion. ...
