Japan's Dentsu to appeal Tokyo Olympic bid rigging sanctions, others weigh responses

( June 24, 2025, 02:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Japan’s top advertising agency, Dentsu Group, said it would appeal the Japan Fair Trade Commission’s cease-and-desist order against its subsidiary, Dentsu Inc, as well as the fines imposed on both companies for their roles in bid rigging contracts for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Dentsu Group maintains that the companies’ unlawful conduct only affected the contracts for test event planning, not those for the actual test events or real events. Meanwhile, Cerespo said that it would consider its response, including the possibility of an appeal, while in separate statements, Tokyu Agency and Fuji Creative each said they would determine their course of action.The statements, in Japanese, are attached....
