National Australia Bank hit with fines over data-portability failures

( June 18, 2025, 23:58 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: National Australia Bank has fallen foul of the country’s data-portability rules and has been hit with fines of A$751,200 ($488,900) relating to four infringement notices. In a statement, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said it had issued the infringement notice relating to failures by the Australian lender to disclose, or accurately disclose, credit-limit data in response to requests made under the Consumer Data Right. “For the CDR to be effective it is critical that the data which a consumer has consented to be shared is accurate, up-to-date, complete and in the required format,” the ACCC said in the statement.  The full statement by the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission follows: ...
