Plaintiffs say Apple 'wrong' in seeking US motion for reconsideration

( June 3, 2025, 00:37 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Plaintiffs in a private US antitrust case urged a Washington federal judge to deny Apple's motion for reconsideration of a previous order.  Apple asked the judge to reconsider her order that allowed a putative class to change the class representative suing the companies over an alleged illegal agreement to restrict the number of third-party sellers permitted to offer iPhones and iPads on Amazon’s marketplace. In an opposition to Apple's motion, the plaintiffs argued that the company's request "is staked to the assertion" that the communications previous-named plaintiff Steven Floyd had with his counsel in 2024, "as described in the Court’s April 10, 2025 Order, mooted the case and stripped the Court of jurisdiction to add new class representatives." The plaintiffs added that "[a]ccording to Apple, the only thing the Court could have done was dismiss the case entirely. Respectfully, Apple is wrong." See plaintiffs' opposition. ...
