Amazon gets German antitrust charges over price limits for sellers

( June 2, 2025, 10:41 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Amazon has been sent a chargesheet by Germany’s competition authority over price controls it imposes on sellers on its marketplace. The Bundeskartellamt said that merchants could see their offers demoted or removed outright if they exceeded a price cap whose calculation was untransparent. It also noted that Amazon competes with the merchants as a seller itself. The conduct could breach Germany’s special competition regime for companies of paramount importance for competition, as well as traditional German and EU competition law. The statement follows....
