NHL, CHL get US antitrust claims over junior hockey dismissed

( May 27, 2025, 15:15 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The National Hockey League and the Canadian Hockey League won a dismissal of US antitrust claims accusing them of restraining the North American market for the provision of hockey services to developmental leagues by players aged 16-20. US District Judge Tana Lin found that the court lacks jurisdiction. “The allegations in the complaint give the court pause, and the court believes the US has an interest in the treatment of major junior hockey players recruited from and playing in the US.
