Opposition to Paramount-Skydance US license transfer cites Shell 'omission'

( May 8, 2025, 21:48 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: LiveVideo.AI argued that the US Federal Communication Commission should not allow the transfer of licenses between Paramount and Skydance due to New Paramount President-to-be Jeffery Shell's past, according to a supplemental petition. The company said that Shell engaged in purposeful "omission" of parts of his professional history, including his time as chairman of the Broadcasting Board of Governors. The petition to the FCC said there was "No mention of his oversight over Voice of America, no reference to foreign media operations, nothing about how he oversaw the targeting by BBG assets and personnel of 2016 Presidential candidate Donald Trump thru making false claims about Trump’s ties to Russia."
