South Korean blood glucose monitor maker fined for resale price maintenance

( May 7, 2025, 04:13 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex summary: i-Sens, a South Korean blood glucose monitor maker, has been fined 256 million won ($183,000) by the country’s competition regulator for restricting resellers from setting their own prices and withholding supplies for those that sold products below a certain price. The Korea Fair Trade Commission found that the company fixed prices for parts of its blood glucose monitors since 2018 and raised supply prices or suspended supply to resellers that failed to meet with its pricing policy. The company also monitored online prices through an intermediary, created a blacklist of noncompliant resellers and restricted supply to those that did not adhere to its pricing policy.
