Google faces new GBP5 billion UK antitrust class action over search advertising

Competition-law academic Or Brook, heading the prospective collective claim, said today that it had been filed at the Competition Appeal Tribunal. It accuses Google of abusing its "near-total dominance in the general search market to drive up prices." Google is already faced with defending a separate 7 billion-pound UK class action seeking damages over alleged anticompetitive behavior in the mobile search market, brought on behalf of UK consumers.Statement follows....
