Changes to Czech competition rules under consideration

( April 16, 2025, 10:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Czech antitrust authority was involved in drafting changes to the nation’s competition law, in a move to expand its supervisory powers by introducing a new tool, the call-in model for merger reviews, the watchdog said when presenting its activities from 2024 this week. Fines for managers for their part in illegal agreements are also part of the draft proposal. Last year, the authority issued a total number of 11 decisions on prohibited agreements, issuing fines of more than 340 million koruna ($15.4 million). The proposal is now in the Chamber of Deputies, waiting for approval along with a number of other bills, a spokesperson told MLex.Statement follows. The report is attached (in Czech). ...
