Nissan gives improvement report to Japan regulator after subcontract-law violation

( March 13, 2025, 06:45 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Nissan Motor announced today that it has recently submitted an improvement measures report to the Japan Fair Trade Commission, in response to the corrective recommendation the automaker received in March of last year. To address the issues, Nissan has implemented several measures, including establishing a compliance office within the procurement department, creating a partnership improvement office that reports directly to the president and providing compliance training for employees. Last year, Nissan was found to be in violation of the Subcontract Act and was required to repay 3 billion yen ($20.3 million) to its suppliers for reducing payments.
