Hospital groups say MultiPlan, insurers should face scrutiny US antitrust case

( March 10, 2025, 23:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The American Hospital Association and Federation of American Hospitals told a US federal judge that commercial insurance companies that use MultiPlan’s repricing tool have a massive leg up on healthcare providers. The case accuses MultiPlan and health insurers of conspiring to reduce the reimbursements they pay to healthcare providers for out-of-network healthcare services. “[I]f, as plaintiffs allege, commercial payors are colluding to fix out-of-network reimbursements, the court should put an end to such conduct. In so doing, the court will help alleviate the tremendous financial strain on America’s hospitals and health systems, while preserving patient access to care in hundreds of communities across the US,” they said.See attached file. ...
