NextEra files reply supporting transfer of Avangrid US antitrust claims to Maine

( February 7, 2025, 12:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: NextEra filed a reply in support of its motion to transfer Avangrid's US antitrust claims over the alleged foreclosure of the supply for wholesale electricity in Massachusetts, arguing the case should be handled in a Maine federal court. Avangrid's case is not brought on behalf of Massachusetts renters or utilities, and most key witnesses reside in Maine, NextEra said in its brief. Avangrid does not dispute that the "vast majority" of challenged conduct occurred outside of Massachusetts and in Maine, that Avangrid previously defined the relevant geographic market as "all of New England" in its complaint, or that it is seeking damages only for out-of-state plaintiffs, NextEra said.See attached file....
