Google tells US judge to dismiss claims over alleged conspiracy with Samsung

( January 22, 2025, 01:25 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google urged a California federal judge to throw out Epic Games' antitrust lawsuit accusing Google and Samsung of collusion. "The Court should dismiss Plaintiff’s Section 1 conspiracy claim (Count 1) because Plaintiff fails to plead sufficient evidence — either direct or circumstantial — plausibly suggesting that Samsung’s decision to turn Auto Blocker on by default on certain Samsung devices was the result of an agreement between Google and Samsung," Google argued in a motion to dismiss. Google added that Epic's allegations "are more consistent with Samsung’s unilateral, rational business decision to promote the security of its products than with an illegal conspiracy with Google."See motion to dismiss. ...
