Yacht brokers win dismissal of US antitrust suit over commissions

( January 21, 2025, 16:48 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The International Yacht Brokers Association, Yacht Brokers Association of America and others convinced a Florida federal judge to dismiss a consolidated antitrust suit brought by Ya Mon Expeditions and other plaintiffs alleging that the defendants conspired to artificially inflate broker commissions. The court found that the plaintiffs failed to plausibly allege direct evidence of an agreement or conspiracy while alleging "the entire yacht industry is engaged in illegal, anticompetitive conduct," US District Judge K. Michael Moore said in an order filed in the Southern District of Florida. See attached....
