UK claim against Amazon, Apple derailed as court rejects class representative

The Competition Appeal Tribunal said it couldn’t authorize the proposed class representative for the action, which seeks damages over an alleged anticompetitive deal over the sale of Apple and Beats products. Christine Riefa “has not demonstrated sufficient independence or robustness so as to act fairly and adequately in the interests of the class,” the CAT said.A collective claim targeting Apple and Amazon over their retail practices has failed to win trial approval from the UK's specialized antitrust court....
